Adding or Inactivating a DUR
A Drug Utilization Review (DUR) can be added to a patient's profile to track OTCs or medication filled at other locations, to ensure interaction checking occurs. When adding or removing a DUR in Patient Centre, Nexxsys is automatically updated with this information.
To add a new DUR:
- In the medication review, select the Medication Record tab.
- Select New DUR.

The Adding a DUR window appears.
- Search for and select the drug. The New DUR window appears.
- Enter the following information:
- Qty
- DS
- Prescribed or OTC
- SIG

- Select OK. The DUR is added and is displays in the Medication Record tab. The DUR is automatically added to the patient's Profile tab in Nexxsys.
To remove a DUR:
- In the medication review, select the Medication Record tab.
- Select Inactivate DUR for the DUR that needs to be removed.

The Inactivate DUR window appears.
- Select Yes. The DUR is inactivated in both the medication review and in Nexxsys.
Inactivated DURs can be viewed in Patient Centre by selecting either the Inactive or Both filter. If filtering by the Both filter, inactivated prescriptions display in red.
